In the past year 8500 kilo of cheese was stolen at a worth of €90.000,-. The thiefs seem to know their cheeses since they have picked the old more valuable cheeses. Each cheese is labeled with a serial number making it difficult to sell on. The stolen cheeses are suspected to be moved to eastern Europe. THe theft has led to some shortage in supply of old cheese.
